Hi, I found this community  by doing an over 40 search. I am 43 and due to some health problems, and just plain not taking proper care of myself I have put on quite a bit of extra weight.  I am hoping that I can get this excess weight off through a reasonable diet and exercise program. Will welcome any and all suggestions.

I am not a dietitian but I have learned so much about how my body reacts to the foods that I used to consume. I really think that our culture is very good at "fixing" our bodies after we get sick, but we are not always so well prepared with preventive medicine.

I don't wish to indicate that everything can be fixed with a lifestyle change but we can sure give ourselves a healthier chance by making wiser choices in our daily living.
